The easy part is writing the book
The easy part is writing the book!!! Ha, you say as you struggle through dialogs between charaters, trying not to sound lame or boring. Or as you are bogged down trying to come up with a title. Well, trust me, the easy part is writing the book. The first 20 or so edits aren't that bad either. I had the luxury of having a retired journalism editor look the book over before it went to the publishing editor, and after that there was a major revision and more editing. Then the book editor takes it apart, and I already discussed not changing the ending, but I learned a bit more today about the publishing world...track changes. These are little lines in the left hand margin of the manuscipt that the editor puts in to tell you a change is suggested in that line. Well, I sent the manuscript back because there were a bunch of these, but no apparent suggested changes in that line. So, the manuscript was sent back to me by the book interior designer saying I had to approve or reject changes that weren't there... because they were ghost track changes...OOOOOHHH. Scary. Now how the heck do I get rid of ghosts. I thought of calling ghost buster, but instead I called my design team and hopefully they are now ridding the manuscript of these poltergeists!! This was after having a difficult time uploading the completed manuscript. Maybe I'm just not techie enough. Well, even if you don't like the book, maybe you can appreciate all the hard work.!!!!
