Captain Marlena: Capt. Marlena Brackebusch grew up in New Jersey and started sailing small dinghy sailboats at the age of 7. After being away from the sea for several years, she resumed sailing in Boston, during college and taught sailing for U-Mass- Boston as well as several renowned sailing schools around the East Coast of the US and the Caribbean. During the late 1980's and early 90's she and a friend completed a 4 year World Circumnavigation aboard their 31 foot sailing yacht. Since then she has been teaching sailing for the American Sailing Association, delivering yachts all over the world and chartering boats in Naples, Florida. She now resides in Naples and owns Island Sailing, a company dedicated to providing fun sailing adventures. She is a US Coast Guard Licensed Master Mariner, American Sailing Association Sailing Instructor and PADI Certified Scuba Diver.
